How To Be Respectful Of Others When Vaping

Twenty years ago, you could smoke anywhere – in offices, airplanes, homes, hospitals, you name it. But since the smoking ban was introduced in 2007, lighting up a cigarette suddenly became antisocial, as it forced people to stand outside in the cold.

While vaping rescued smokers from having to brave inclement weather conditions, as they could use their e-cigarettes indoors, it is still worthwhile being aware of surroundings.

IPSNews recommends checking with establishments about whether it is ok to vape in their premises, just as you should if you are inside someone’s home.

“Assuming the absence of readily apparent rules gives you free license to vape in an establishment is liable to lead to a rude awakening,” it states, adding it could even lead to you being banned or, at least, embarrassed in front of people.

Similarly, if you are visiting a friend or relative, ask for permission before vaping, so you don’t create an awkward situation just because you took your e-cigarette out.

The publication suggests avoiding vaping when in crowded areas so vape clouds don’t blow in someone’s face by mistake. Wait until you are outside and have more space to yourself, so you don’t end up upsetting anyone unintentionally.

When it comes to mealtimes, it is best to leave vaping till after the dessert. Lots of people might not want fragrant clouds around their food, even if they are delicious themselves. If you can’t wait until you are done, make yourself excused and find somewhere to enjoy a vape before finishing your course.
