Illegal Vapes Seized In Shop
A shop in Kirkby near Liverpool was raided by police this month, leading to illegal vapes being seized along with other unlawful goods.
Police raided the corner shop and recovered 44 vapes containing what were described as “potentially dangerous chemicals”, the Liverpool Echo reports.
They were recovered along with 25,000 illegal cigarettes and 230 packs of tobacco from the Village News store on Glovers Brow.
Community policing inspector for Knowsley David Morgan said: “Illicit products such as those we seized on Friday carry the potential to damage public health as the chemicals added to these products aren’t monitored or licensed in any way.”
He added: “They could be exposing consumers to potentially dangerous chemicals, and we are pleased to have helped take them out of circulation.”
The incident is a reminder that those seeking vape supplies should always go to a reputable, licensed provider that can be trusted. As a firm with six years of experience who manufacture our own products, we know how to ensure everything we offer is safe and meets all the regulatory standards.
It is important to make sure you are getting vapes from the right place because the incident in Kirkby is far from being an isolated one.
For example, earlier this month the London Evening Standard reported that “thousands of illegal super strength vapes” were seized by trading standards and Metropolitan Police officers on Oxford Street.
The raid occurred after an investigation by the paper revealed the stores were selling Geek Bar Pros, Chinese-made vaping products with twice the legal limit of nicotine.
Worse still, the store owners had been selling them to children, causing some victims to suffer symptoms such as nose bleeds, headaches and dizziness.
All this goes to show that while it may be tempting to go for exciting-sounding items sold under the counter, the health consequences could be very unpleasant and dangerous indeed.
