Tennis Star’s Father Caught Secretly Vaping During French Open Match

Reaching for vape supplies during a critical moment can be a natural reaction for many of us, and so it was the case for the father and coach of Italian tennis player Camila Giorgi.

Reaching for vape supplies during a critical moment can be a natural reaction for many of us, and so it was the case for the father and coach of Italian tennis player Camila Giorgi.

During the 30-year-old’s quarter-final match against Daria Kasatkina at Roland Garros, an astute cameraman caught Sergio Giorgi in the act up in the stands.

He was covering his face with a towel, but when he figured out he had been caught in the act let out a vape cloud, causing observers to laugh at his poor attempts to avoid being found out whilst he was watching his 30th ranked daughter’s match.

This means that, regrettably, it was impossible to ascertain exactly what juice or type of vaping device he used, although it was clear from the consistency that it was, in fact, a vape and not a cigarette.

Unfortunately, whilst she pulled up a tremendous upset against 7th ranked Aryna Sabalenka in the previous round, she was defeated by Daria Kasatkina 2-6, 2-6, narrowly missing the quarter-finals after a somewhat controversial run in the tournament.

Aside from her father’s vape-based antics, Ms Giorgi herself raised the ire of the umpires when an official voiced his complaint at the size of an advertising logo on her outfit for kitchen appliance company DeLonghi, asking for her to change it.

After she responded that this was her only tennis dress and she had played with it on before without incident, the umpire let her continue, but the logo noticeably moved to her sleeve for her loss to Ms Kasatkina.

Following this loss, Ms Giorgi’s next tournament is the WTA 250 Nottingham Open, an event that is commonly used by players as a preparation for Wimbledon.

Time will tell if Mr Giorgi will attempt to sneakily vape during this event as well.
